Today I Am Wise, So I’m Changing Myself

4 Ways to Level Up your Life

Rumi is one of my favorite poets; I love the deep wisdom he shares within his writings. One quote that I’ve been sitting with recently is,

“Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself.” – Rumi

Making changes in our lives can be difficult. The coziness and familiarity of the comfort zone are a slippery place to be, because once you succumb to it, it can take twice the amount of energy to get out of it. Just like stagnant water breeds bacteria, our comfort zone creates this same type of energy in our lives. No movement or growth. I don’t know about you, but I long to see changes in the world. I want to live in a world where people are prioritized and we have systems and relationships that are built on mutual respect and care for one another. Hermetically speaking, the outer world is a direct reflection of the inner world of the collective. In order for us to step into a new world, we need to create that within ourselves first. I believe that deep down we all want to live fulfilling, joyful lives and it starts with making personal changes. Here are some key changes we can use to create massive shifts within.

1. No more Compromising. Create only win/win situations in your life.

The word compromise itself means to accept standards that are less than desirable. We live in a world where we are told time and again that ‘life is all about compromise.’ Before finding the real magick and tools of empowerment within the Modern Mystery School, I also thought this to be true. I had begun to compromise within myself and to believe I would never be able to change. For example, I felt anxious every day and started to succumb to the idea that ‘this is who I am and I can’t change it.’ We are taught to accept mediocrity and to settle for what isn’t actually what we desire. Ultimately, we believe that we can’t have it all. If you find yourself compromising, you’re either not telling yourself the truth about what you want or you’re unwilling to believe you can have everything you want. You’re the only one who will know if you’re compromising in some area of your life because only you know your true heart’s desire. So I challenge you to be diligent and only create win/win situations in your life. It may mean that sacrifices have to be made, but ultimately you’ll be more in alignment with the life you want to live. The key to eliminating stress is to live your life on the “outside” in alignment with how you feel on the inside. If you’re feeling a bit out of touch with what it is you want in life, I recommend receiving a Life Activation from a  certified practitioner. You can read more about the Life Activation here

2. Prioritizing Mind, Body, Wellness

Depression, anxiety, and suicide are at an all-time high on the planet. It’s likely that every person has been directly affected with any or all of these themself or with someone they love. It’s become so prevalent within society that we’ve started to accept it as ‘normal.’ Let me first say, this is not normal and I refuse to be ok with accepting this suffering happening to so many. I believe much of the suffering comes from the disconnection of a higher power, but I will talk about that in the next section. One of the most effective changes we can make in our lives starts with how we take care of ourselves. This last year in particular, as we faced a global pandemic, was a wake up call for many to really prioritize overall physical health through diet, exercise, and cleanliness. Isolation also forced people to slow down and to actually sit with their thoughts and inner feelings. Taking time to meditate and change the way we talk to ourselves can also bring about life-changing transformation in our mind, body and health. Unfortunately, western medicine often silences the symptoms, (which are the body’s way of communicating with us) through prescription drugs versus addressing the underlying causes. We all have the ability to heal our bodies and our minds and this begins with healthy daily habits. Committing to making little changes in our lives to support our overall wellness can be transformational. 3. Prioritizing Spiritual Wellness

I believe so strongly in prioritizing spiritual wellness. One major aspect that is greatly missing from the planet is the knowledge and awareness that,

“We are Eternal Spiritual Beings. We have never been born, therefore we can never die.”- Founder Gudni Gudnasson.

Recognizing that we are all sacred, divine beings transforms the way we interact with one another and with ourselves. Over this past year, being isolated and alone, suicide and depression sky-rocketed. People are suffering. I have been there also; life itself can bring on challenging and heartbreaking lessons that we have to overcome. In my darkest of days, what kept me going was KNOWING that a higher power exists. Knowing that I am never really alone and that there are so many beings of light that are here working with us and helping us. In those moments, I thought about people who are deeply in pain and don’t have a foundation of faith to rely on. How do people move through life without the knowledge that a higher power exists?

For me, taking the Empower Thyself class through the Modern Mystery School transformed my life. Prior to finding this class, I thought the only way to connect to a higher power was through finding a religion that I aligned with. After 15+ years of exploring religions, none felt like the full truth to me. Finding the Empower Thyself class saved me. The teachings gave me hope when I was at a point in life where the light felt fleeting. In the class, you are given access to hidden secrets of the mysteries of the Universe. You create a foundation of positivity enabling you to more easily handle the challenges and obstacles that come up in life. I highly recommend taking this class if you’re ready to prioritize your spiritual wellness and align your life in ways unimaginable.

4. We all have a Purpose, What is yours?

I don’t believe life is a coincidence. We all came to the planet with lessons we wanted to learn, and contracts we wanted to fulfill. I believe we all have a purpose, and our purpose is directly linked to what brings us joy. But we see and experience people who have no moral compass and are going through life chasing an arbitrary societal timeline or the next easy satisfaction; whether it be a vacation, social event, party, etc. I have been there, checking off boxes in my mind of ‘where I should be’ at a certain point in my life. Vacations and social events would come and go, but I’d be left feeling empty until I could shift my focus to the next occasion to find meaning. I didn’t have a purpose; I was living a robotic life focused on distractions because being truly present with myself felt too overwhelming.

Purpose comes from growth, and from following our hearts. If you’re like me, it can be difficult to get in touch with your heart’s desires when you have old wounds that haven’t been addressed. Even though I was masking a lot of my pain through distraction, deep down I always knew something was missing. I knew that I wasn’t living my life fully alive or growing in the ways I wanted to. For those who are ready to discover more about what your purpose is, I highly recommend the 10-month ascension program of Universal Kabbalah through the Modern Mystery School.

It’s courageous when you commit to making changes in your life! May we all love and support one another for continuing to better ourselves. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need extra support, I am here for you.

With Love,

Rachel
